I've lived 5 minutes away from this place for almost two decades and finally went. It's a combination deli and Italian grocery store with lots of Italian items. I got the mufalleta sandwich and a blue crab roll for lunch. The muffaleta was excellent. Solid 5 out of 5. The crab roll was also very good, and I am not a huge crab fan. I'd say 3.5 out of 5. I also bought some of their Italian sausage that I will be throwing into a lasagna tomorrow. I will go back, both for Italian specialty items and the food.

A good butcher can tell you the expiration date of their fresh house-made sausages. It’s not a trick question. This butcher shop got really nervous when I asked. I hesitantly purchased some and sure enough, I gave it the sniff test when I got home and it smelled funky. Also, their house packaged meats don’t have expiration dates — the packed date and expiration dates are the same. I asked about this and they said that’s just how their label device is set up?!

I loved this establishment! True West Tampa! It made me feel my childhood all over again, I enjoyed a Cuban sandwich and a deviled crab w/ cholula hot sauce... 🔥 I swung my feet and 💃 danced in my chair! And the market made is amazing! Family!!!

I really enjoy shopping at Cacciatore and Sons—the store itself is great and the food is always fresh and delicious. However, the deli experience today was very disappointing. I understand it was busy, and that’s completely fine, but while waiting I had time to observe the staff. They were talking and laughing over the food they were preparing, including the ham they were slicing, which didn’t feel very professional or sanitary. On top of that, the youngest employee was noticeably rude toward older customers, which was uncomfortable to witness. On a positive note, the cashier and the woman helping bag groceries were incredibly kind and welcoming—they made the checkout experience pleasant. Overall, I love the store, but the deli staff really needs improvement. When you work directly with customers, being respectful, professional, and friendly should be a priority.

***** UPDATE ***** It has gotten so bad that I now bring my own meat home and try to cut them nyself. The quaility is fantastic, thats why I keep going. But if you dont want ground beef cut it yourself. also, no response from them. I have been a custoe there for over 30 years and for some reason the last two times i've gone to the bustcher shop. I left broke and teribbey. I usally ge. t at least twice a month. 15lbs of ground beef. Still excellent and what a bargin too. 2-3 lbs of sausages still beautiful. I do but a full chatteu briange or whole serloin cut into straks about 3/4 in. Never until 2025 have I had any issues. The butcher dept. Has fallen off sharpley, We can not see to get a decent streak cut at all. From the whole Chatteau I usually about 9-11 steaks, The last one I got six usable and 4 that where mulitated. todays was tied with a string sliced into about 4 steaks and a bunch what looked like the inside of the cow, still tied with rope (pics are included). Todays order $171 and change and can use maby 2/3 if Im lucky, The one 2 weeks ago, 154 and used about 40% They were sliced and beaten into recogition. I did not want mased filets. So many dissapointments lately.
